This beautiful 1967 Buick Riviera belonged to the San
Diego Prowler -custom Hot-Rod Builder & legend Mr. Marty
Moore. It is a rust-free timepiece, ordered loaded new by
a client of Marty's -then given to him by that client straight from
a CA dealer -was traded among a friend or 2, stored 10-12 years,
then back to Marty who drove his wife in it for years... It's
mostly original, and with the Numbers Matching 430ci V8 and
3spd AT, this Black/Black Beauty is loaded with AC, Tilt wheel,
Rear Defrost, Power: Steering, Brakes, Windows, Driver's Seat,
Antennae, and Retracting Headlights -all working
well.
This Riviera has Only 84,702 Original miles.
Starts right up instantly & idles smoothly without any smoke or
stalls, it revs up quickly with a roar -non-stock stainless steel
rear mufflers, potentially other motor mods.?
This '67 Riviera was kept in a big warm garage in N. San Diego with
Marty's two 1940 Ford Pick-ups & '40 Ford Sedan Delivery -all
customized in the 50's-80's with Corvette engines, etc.. + 4
vintage Triumph motorcycles & 2 spare Hot-rod V8s -one w/ the RARE
ARDUN HEADs & other a mid-1960s Corvette 327 w/ 4 Weber 2BBL
carbs... - which may be for sale too..
This Riviera has a new Brake master cylinder, and brake
booster -w/ new Silicon Dot5 fluid flush. New Battery, New rubber
fuel lines & fuel pump. The engine bay is very clean
-hoses/belts & wiring all in good shape -clearly this has been a
very well maintained car -by a professional. Everything seems to
work as it should except the fuel gauge is stuck on Full. The clock
is correct twice a day... Wd40 may fix it.
The tires are old and could use replacing before a long trip, the
original spare and jack/wrench set is still in trunk.
There are no body dents, nor large scratches, yet some typical
chipping on lower front edges of fenders/doors.
Rumor has it there was a minor fender bender 20+ yrs ago L.F.
fender may have been replaced or repaired very well -Marty didn't
use bondo, there are signs of the paint work and wear on the
LF...And nearly all the front end fender, bumper, grill, and other
bolts have been replaced with stainless steel bolts. The vinyl top
is Original and in Near Perfect shape, no bubbles, no scrapes. The
Chrome and stainless trim is in excellent condition -no rust, not
pitted. Long wide stainless trim under driver's door has some
scrapes.
Inside - a well-appointed and comfortable interior with bucket
seats, looks nearly new except for minor small cracks on the
driver's seat vinyl. The trim, headliner, carpet, glass, and gauges
are all in great original condition.
It's being Black/Black w/ AC, vinyl top, etc. make it a
very rare and desirable find - adding it's low miles, CA owner
history of car-builder/professional customizer Marty Moore -ads a
lot to it's collectible value.
You likely won't find a nicer '66-'67 Riviera in Black with all the
options & no rust with Matching Numbers.
