For Sale: 1963 Chrysler Imperial Crown in Mount Dora, Florida

Vehicle Description

This was Chrysler's Top-Of-The-Line Convertible and it was built in very Limited Edition. Only 531 made in 1963. You could spot this Luxury Model on the street by the Crown Emblem posted on the rear fender. Once again, free-standing headlights were tucked under front fender eyebrows trimmed with a chrome piece that ran the entire length of the car. Gone were the giant Gun Sight Tail Lights on top of the fender. The Vertical Taillights were now, for 1963, conservatively placed in the tail fins. The roof design was less slanted then previous years and Power Steering, Brakes and Windows were all Standard Equipment....befitting a Luxury Cruiser. This beauty was powered by a 413 cubic Inch V8/4V with 340hp at 4,600 rpm. Torque Flight Automatic Transmissions and Push Button Drive were Standard. The original Mileage is 11,867 and it is a two-owner car recently restored frame-up by the Top local restoration shop.

Its on a clear FL. Title and is and was a rust-free car. Purchased from the original owner in 1968, it was stored inside all it's life, until restored. The 84 year old caring owner recently put it though a meticulous restoration with receipts of over $100,000. The paint quality is better then new.

It is finished in Alabaster Tan with Black Leather Interior. The seats are original and 'show well' but, there is some slight separation in the stitching. The engine was removed, fully tested, approved and placed into running operation. The engine cavity shows better then new. The Whitewall Tires (correct size) are also new and much of the chrome original. The Black Soft Top is new with perfect Isinglas. It has the rare, optional Flitesweep Deck Lid (faux spare), and came Optioned with Electric Door Locks & Trunk Release, Auto Pilot Cruise, Wheelhouse Stone Shield Trim, Power Vent Windows, Passenger Mirror, Electric Touch Tuner Radio w/ Power Antenna, Leather Trim, Tinted Glass and Power Seat. Only 33,717 Imperial's were built that year which was .44% of the Industry Total. 64.3% of all Imperials had A.C., and 91.9% had Tinted Glass. It cost $5782 new (C.P.I. Index $47,539 today) and it has an orig. Owners Manual, Warranty Booklet and Dealer Enclosures (poor cond.) It is in need of further restoration but, all of the most expensive, critical portions have been done. Perfect for the Tall or Big Man.

NADA Classic Car Guide places it at $24300 lo., 57,000 av., 128,000 top.

And, it is re-priced to SELL Now at $82,500.
