If you are looking for something that stands out in a crowd this
1960 Mercury Comet wagon is for you! Not only does it drive as good
as it looks but it has a long list of custom features you will not
find on other wagons. No expense was spared on the exceptional
paint job when the car was taken down to bare metal and epoxy
primed before being painted with the PPG mint green. The top of the
car is finished off with a brilliant sliver metal flake. This car
has had the door handles shaved and replaced with Lincoln push
button and door poppers. Also Underneath the hood of this wagon is
302 cubic inch V8 that came out of a 1992 Ford Mustang GT. Topping
off the engine is an Edelbrock carburetor and new HEI GM
distributor. Helping you to cruise down the road at lower RPM's is
the 5 speed manual transmission that is paired nicely to the 302.
Helping the engine breath is the dual exhaust with Bellflower tips
exiting next to the rear fenders. Jamco lowering springs and air
shocks with on board air compressor are what give the car it's one
off stance while maintaining the factory ride. There are disc
brakes on the front of this car helping it stop better than when it
was new. The rear axle is out of a 1968 Ford Mustang that has been
rebuilt with 3.25 gears. Speaking of the rear of the car there is a
hidden receiver hitch behind the fold down license plate.
Completing the custom exterior are a set of vintage 5 lug chrome
wheels with spider caps and black painted centers wrapped in new
radial tires. This Comet just completed a 1,000 miles road trip to
the HAMB drags while getting 23 mpg. You can view this 1960 Mercury
