Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1945 Willys Navy Jeep. The
Willys Model MB 1/4 ton 4x4 needs little introduction - rushed into
production by the US government for use in World War II, thousands
were produced and they were praised for their reliability and
ruggedness.
This example was donated to the Boy Scouts after the war and then
moved into private hands - it has been in the same family for
decades. An older basic restoration included a repaint in dark grey
metallic which is in keeping with the grey paint that it would have
worn in the Navy. It has also been converted to 12 volt electricals
with an alternator and electric fuel pump.
It has been used around the farm, for short drives to town and in
parades for most of its life. It has not seen much use since the
owner's passing in 2015 but when we inspected it in the barn we had
it running within minutes. We have subsequently installed a new
battery and fresh gas. It runs like a top and is fun to drive...
Enzo Ferrari famously said, "The Jeep is America's only real sports
car."
This Willys has some patina about it - some chips in the paint and
some wear on the upholstery - but it's a solid truck that always
gets compliments and thumbs up. It would be the perfect addition to
any collection - not too nice to take off road or use around the
farm but nice enough to use in a parade or for urban exploring. For
