If you desire a truck with classic looks but modern amenities,
MotoExotica Classic Cars has the ride for you. We're pleased to
present this 1948 Ford F2 -ton 4x4 Truck Restomod. The truck's red
paint, custom pinstriping with the Kirby's Auto Service livery and
trim are all in excellent condition. The windows are clear and
intact while the truck's lights are in excellent order, even the
headlights with eyelid trims. The truck's bodywork is very straight
and solid; it rides a modern F-150 frame and has a tow truck bed
behind the cab, minus the actual tow hook, cables and mounting
arms. The corrugated metal bumpers, runningboards and tow bed look
good and are all covered in a black, scratch-resistant coating. The
truck rides high on Hankook Dynapro MT tires, size LT305/70R16 at
all four corners. Each tire is wrapped around a seven-hole, chrome
wheel and the front wheels have locking hubs. On either side of the
tow bed there are two smaller wheels wearing Carlisle Sure Trail ST
rubber, size 4.80-8. Under the vented hood is a built 390 CID Ford
V-8 breathing via dual exhausts that exit ahead of the rear wheels
and the engine is mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and
three-speed transfer case. Driver convenience features include
power steering with tilt column, power brakes and power windows.
There is also air-conditioning but it is incomplete. Inside, the
cab has been modernized. The bench seat is in excellent order and
it is covered in white vinyl on the sides in the center with red
cloth seating surfaces for the driver and one passenger. The black
carpet looks fantastic while the black headliner is in very good
order. The three-spoke aftermarket steering wheel looks great and
flanks an instrument panel full of digital gauges. The dash and
inner door liners are in all in excellent order. The only lever on
the floor is for the transfer case so the cab could fit three
people if needed. The first F-Series truck (known as the Ford
Bonus-Built) was introduced in late 1947 (went on sale January 16,
1948) as a replacement for the pre-war designed Ford trucks. It had
a flat, one-piece windshield and integratedheadlamps and a wider
cab.Options included the "See-Clear" windshield washer (operated
by foot plunger), passenger-side windshield wiper and sun visor and
passenger-side taillight. For 1948, the Ford trucks featured wider,
longer and taller cabs. Competition to this F2 in 1948 included
Chevrolet's FR -ton, Dodge's B1-C -ton GMC's New Design Series
-ton trucks. If you like the idea of a modern truck in a classic
wrapper, stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars today to check this one
