HISTORY OF THE 1936 FORD DELUXE
For 1936 Ford continually sought further refinement of their
popular Flathead V8 motorcars. The front grille was extended to the
sides, a stylish touch that improved cooling with a larger capacity
radiator. With 18 different models available, the Deluxe line was
considered the pinnacle with brightwork adorning the grille and
headlight perimeters. Power was derived from the 3.6 liter Flathead
V8, already a legendary engine that Ford celebrated the three
millionth unit of in 1936. Open models were often lavishly adorned
with leather interiors and the 4-door Phaeton proved to be one of
the most stylish of the era.
