Awarded annually at the Grand National Roadster Show, the title of America’s Most Beautiful Roadster is one that only the best of the best can claim. It takes an elusive combination of vision, talent and dedication, combined with thousands of labor hours and an open checkbook to even be in the running for the award. Since 1950, the top hot rods in the world have made their way to California to compete for a shot at the 9-foot trophy and prestigious title. Making its debut in 2011, this all-steel 1934 Ford beat out the competition, taking home both.

Built by Squeeg’s Kustoms of Chandler, Arizona, an original steel 1934 Ford body and chassis were massaged and worked into a masterpiece featuring a custom-crafted wedge channel and steel inner structure as well as custom cowl lines, hood sides and top. A Dan Fink grille insert was added, along with hood hinges and functional side hood scoops. A Boyd Coddington-fabricated hidden headlight stand and windshield frame enhanced the sleek lines. Finishing the car off is a set of custom handmade taillights by Squeeg’s, with everything draped in PPG Concept DCC black paint.

Underneath, the car features a boxed frame with Kugel independent suspension components, as well as Aldan coilovers and Wilwood brakes. It utilizes a 4:11 limited-slip rear end and rides on Real Rodders wheels. Under the hood sits a Dart Aluminum 427ci Ford Windsor engine capped off with a Hilborn fuel-injection setup. The engine was assembled by Speed Sports of Gilbert, Arizona, and utilizes JE pistons with SCAT rods and crank. A set of custom headers and a stainless-steel exhaust were added, as well as a Ford Automatic Overdrive transmission to cap off the powertrain.

The interior upholstery, done by Gabe Lopez of Gabe’s Street Rod Custom Interiors, features a custom stitched leather seat with matching door panels and a wrapped Nardi Torino steering wheel. The dash utilizes a custom aluminum insert made by Squeeg’s equipped with Auto Meter gauges.

With an unmatched level of craftsmanship and style, this 1934 Ford truly embodies the title of “America’s Most Beautiful Roadster.”
