You're bidding on a 1960 Panhard PL17. This is a rare restoration opportunity that won't come along any time soon. Were they fast? Well, by 1960 standards, yes. Were they comfortable? Nope. Were they unique? Well, yes, and that's one of the great things you'll enjoy after restoring this beauty. Longitudinal frame members are rusted out. Cross frame members seem solid. Floor pan is rusted out. Some quarter panel and hood work needs too be done, and in general, this needs a major restoration throughout. Some points of interest about the vehicle:
Torsion bar valve springs
Transverse leaf springs for front suspension
Horizontally-opposed 2-cylinder air-cooled 888cc gasoline engine
Brake fluid reservoir is actually a glass jar (OEM)
Manual transmission with shifter on the column
Front suicide doors
No keys
Clear title
Engine turns freely
Tires hold air
I don't know a whole lot about this car or its history, but feel free to ask questions and maybe I'll know the answer?
Buyer is responsible for pick up. Bring a trailer. You're not going to be driving it home :D
