Vehicle Description
This extraordinary customized 1932 Ford Pickup truck was built
around a spider web theme and called by the owner "Charlotte's
Web."
The project started with a 1932 Ford Pickup but after a frame off
custom makeover, it is now a show stopping award winner. Precious
little of the original truck remains except perhaps the body,
although the cab has been lengthened by 8 inches.
Completed 6-years ago, this truck has travelled less than a
thousand miles since its restoration and is only driven to local
car shows in Orange County, New York, according to the owner.
This is one performance-based pickup. In the engine bay there is a
400 cu. in. V8 from a 1970 Chevy Chevelle bored over 30 with a
performance cam. The carburetor is an Edelbrock 600 four
barrel.
The floor mounted automatic transmission is a three speed with
B&M shifter kit. The independent front suspension is a Heidts
Super Ride II kit with rack and pinion steering. The limited slip
differential is from a '69 Oldsmobile.
While this is a pickup, it also has a tilt bed with two electronic
actuators installed rated for lifting 450 lb. The truck bed is two
double decked inch oak coated with polyurethane. The Cragar
wheels are from a '57 Chevy muscle car and have been stripped and
powder coated.
The truck is black with 5 multicolor flakes embedded in the paint.
Howie (The Pinstriper) Nisgor pinstriped the truck with a spider
theme.
In fact, the spider web theme is carried through out. Most
dramatically the radiator features a web design chrome cover and
spider web radiator supports. A large metal spider, the owner
bought in Transylvania, sits on top of the air cleaner and the
sparkplug wires are run to look like a spider web. In the
lengthened cab the custom made seat covers have spider webs
stitched in the top and the web designed is also stitched in the
door panels. The custom polished aluminum steering wheel also
sports a web design. After lengthening the cab, the running board
had to be extended and features a spider design.
With a chopped cab, the rear vision is accessed by a video camera
mounted on the back of the cab with a TV screen above the
windshield. There is even a sunroof. The body is steel throughout
and the fenders are fiberglass.
This is a stunning and highly original creation sure to win more
awards and turn heads well into the future.
