Vehicle Description
1965 GRIFFITH 200 for sale. Motorcar classics is pleased to present
this very rare 1965 Griffith 200 featured in White with Black
racing stripes and Black leather interior. Jack Griffith was the
owner of Syosset Ford, a dealership located very near our own
facility on long Island, and a racer as well. Griffith was
campaigning a competition Cobra with Mark Donohue and Bobby Brown,
and over drinks one day, the story goes, he bet Carroll Shelby that
he could build a car that was better and faster than the Cobra.
With Donohue's help, Griffith set up a shop in Halesite, NY, where
he installed Ford 289 V8's into Mk III TVR Granturas creating the
Griffith 200 as we have on offer. With a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds
the Griffith delivered incredible performance for its time. Our car
has been re-powered with a Ford 302 backed with a 5-speed gearbox.
It is well-sorted and a thrill to drive.
