This GTO had a frame off restoration started in 2008 and completed in 2011 (CD w/photos of restoration).Was restored to original,is fully documented with PHS Doc's.& window sticker, comes with original build sheet for this GTO..This 1971 GTO is one of 9854 Hardtop Coupes produced in 1971. This body style was used from 1968 thru 1972. This GTO was built at the GM Plant in Fremont, California and first sold in Sherman Oaks, Ca. in mid 71. On aprox 9/11/98 car was sold & taken to Chicago, ILL. with the intention of restoring, but sat in a garage in Chicago awaiting restoration (never done), was resold 2/05/03 and taken to Beech Grove, Ind. where it sat for three more years before undergoing a complete frame off restoration was mostly completed when I purchased the GTO on 4/15/11 and completed restoration in November of 2011.This car has been shown with many awards ( Stock Restored). Car is street driven and garage kept. This 1971 GTO has a laser straight & rust free body that during restoration was completely taken apart an stripped to bare metal. Was primed and painted with Dupont lacquer paint to the original color Laurentain green. Rebuilt original numbers matching 400 ci engine (bored 30 over w/Comp cam ( engine built to1970 engine specs aprox 350+ horsepower. Rebuilt Turbo 400 AT transmission, rebuilt 323 rear end, new brakes, power front disc and rear drums,rebuilt power steering, rebuilt factory air conditioning, new vinyl top and original reconditioned 14" Ralley II Wheels with Red Line wide oval tires. .All colors exterior, interior and vinyl top are done to original colors.This car has won many awards but the best one was a "JIM WANGNERS BEST GTO OF SHOW AWARD" in 2015, car is signed by Jim Wangers. Jim is considered the god father of the GTO and the GTO EXPERT. Anyone would be proud to own an drive this real numbers matching 1971 GTO.
