Vehicle Description
Over the years, Toyota has forged quite a name for itself by
building rock-solid, dependable transportation, but they've also
been known to get a little adventurous from time to time, such as
in the case of this 1994 Toyota Supra. Packing serious power under
its hood and sporting one of Toyota's boldest, eye-catching
designs, it's a very rare find that's only logged about 48,000
miles and comes complete with a clean AutoCheck report as proof of
its sheltered life.
You just don't come across Supras of this era very often, so this
one is a welcome sight. It's one very sharp looking ride, featuring
hints of European styling in the form of its sharply angled
windshield, sloping rear roofline and the functional Ferrari-esque
aggressive scoop on the deck lid. With its sleek look and low to
the ground stance, it's an undeniable head turner. Its bright red
paint is the same shade it began with and is in good form - judging
from the fresh look of this Toyota's exterior, it's been garage
kept most of the time, so you won't find any serious blemishes as
you take a lap around the car. The targa top feature accentuates
another of the Supra's strong points - it looks great both with the
roof panels in place or with them removed for an open-air driving
experience. Up front, the trio of bulbs sitting in each headlight
bucket provide a great, aggressive look, while in back, the
multi-colored taillights sit behind clear lenses just above the
clean rear bumper, while the distinctive "Supra" script on the
hatch still looks impressively sharp.
The tan leather seating and matching carpet contrasts nicely with
the black center console and dash area to make for a great looking
driving environment. Both the front buckets with their integrated
headrests and the rear bench seat are in very sharp condition. The
wrap around instrument cluster has a very "driver-centric" feel to
it, positioning the clear gauges for easy viewing and putting the
AM/FM/Cassette/CD stereo just a short reach away. There's a nice
array of features on board, including air conditioning that's
blowing strong and cold, a tilt column, cruise control power door
locks, power windows and remote door openers. Driver and passenger
side airbags are a welcome safety measure. Raise the hatch and
you'll find a surprising amount of useful room in the storage area
in back.
The fuel-injected 3.0 liter inline 6 sitting under the hood is a
screamer - outfitted with twin turbos, it's good for a full 320
horsepower, far more than enough to rocket this great looking
Toyota forward with conviction. Unlike many turbos, these activate
sequentially, with all of their boost initially directed to just
one turbine under 3000RPM to reduce lag for very strong
acceleration. When Car and Driver tested the twin-turbo Supra, it
delivered 0-60 times consistently well under 5 seconds. The engine
pairs with a smooth shifting 4-speed automatic transmission to make
for a responsive, yet low-effort driving experience. Handling is
definitely another of its fortes - that aggressive spoiler in back
creates a substantial amount of downward force to keep the car
glued to the pavement, and when you factor in its already
impressive .98 skidpad results, you have one supremely agile
performance car on your hands. Power disc brakes sit at all four
corners for quick, dependable stops as it turns heads on its 17"
Toyota alloy rims, wrapped with Bridgestone Potenza tires.
Lightly travelled and still very much in its prime, this 1994
Toyota Supra offers the chance to own a powerful, increasingly rare
performance car in its ideal configuration. Call today!
