This popular body style represents the third generation of Oldsmobile's front wheel drive Toronado. This style was produced from 1979 to 1985 and was considerably smaller than prior years. A special upscale version named "Caliante" was offered in 1984 & '85. The Caliante package cost an additional $1,970 and of the 42,185 Toronado's produced in 1985 only 7,342 were optioned with the Caliante package.
