Vehicle Description
1969 Ford F100 Custom Cab
You know you are doing something right when you build a line of
vehicles in 1948 and continue to produce them even today. Well that
is exactly what Ford did with their F-series pickups. Today (2018)
Ford generates $41 billion dollars in annual revenue just from the
F-series. That makes it a more valuable brand than Coca-Cola and
Nike! The 1969 F100 pickup you see here belongs to the 5th
generation of F series trucks which were built on the same platform
as the prior generation. The changes though included sharper
styling, a bigger cab and more engine options. This one is
considered a Custom Cab which is the mid level falling between the
base models and the Ranger. The truck has a great classic look and
don't let that exterior patina discourage you. It has been gone
through mechanically and is the type of pickup you can take
anywhere. It is a one owner pickup and has lived in Texas its
entire life. The body is straight and doesn't have any major signs
of damage. There isn't any major rust issues either except for the
surface stuff and 2 holes in the rear of the bed floor. It is
fitted with the original side trim, grill, and front bumper. The
beefy rear bumper in back is fitted with a trailer ball and is sure
to destroy anything that attempts to rear end you. The factory
style F-O-R-D emblems are fitted across the nose and it has the
FORD tailgate in back. The truck even has its original trailering
mirrors nicely mounted to each side. The glass is in good condition
with no chips or cracks and the front windshield is new. Under all
four corners are the original wheels with chrome dog dish
hubcaps.
The truck has over 100,000 miles on it but a 54,000 mile 360 2
barrel carbureted engine has been added. The engine runs well and
starts up every time. It is mated to a C4 automatic transmission
that shifts smoothly. It has just had multiple new items added
which include the driveshaft, brakes, radiator and full length dual
exhaust. A feature us Texans are always glad to hear about is the
fact it has a working COLD AIR CONDITIONING system which works
great. It has an I beam front suspension and in the rear of this
1/2 ton are the stock shocks. It rides very well.
The interior is all the original style with a bench seat. All of
the gauges and lights work and as a bonus: an 8 track stereo.
Before you put your prized CCR 8 track tape in I would test it out
though because these things are known to eat them up if you aren't
careful. Recent additions to the inside include a new dash pad,
headliner, seat cover and armrests which were just installed to
make the cab cozy.
This is one neat pickup that has had all the mechanical stuff
worked out. You could easily use it as is to haul stuff around and
not worry about the paint or totally redo the exterior...the choice
is yours!
