Not 'top concours' but certainly a car that would do well at any lower key show. Really gorgeous.
Excellent body (I ran my trusty kitchen magnet along all of the edges, rockers, doglegs, front and rear quarters, stuck everywhere....no indication ANYWHERE of plastic filler), beautiful paint, very nicely detailed and painted engine bay, excellent original cloth covered wiring harness, VERY impressive and no doubt the 46,000 indicated miles is correct.
Engine was rebuilt a few years ago, our tests showed 145-50 psi compression in every cylinder, 65 psi oil pressure, zero smoke, perfect running, quiet gearbox (even in 1st gear), tight front end, quiet exhaust, all gauges and switches work, has a new top and side curtains (appear to never have been used), all of the chrome looks new, new fender welting and rubber seals, wire wheel look to be fairly new, same with knock offs, all in all, what is left?
Looked underneath, excellent chassis and wood floors, no sign or rust or damage underneath, as nice an MGA as I have ever seen.
And, of course, as a 1600, has disc brakes, higher (4.1 diff) gearing, more power yet avoids the somewhat ugly Mk II grille and rear lights. All in all, the perfect compromise in an MGA. And an MGA is just about the best all around compromise in a classic English sports car.....contemporary performance, classic styling, superb ride, handling, and steering, and with a luggage rack, ready for a weekend trip.
Nothing more to add. A beautiful, restored car with no indication of plastic filler, no rust, and in ready-to-show condition.
