Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this restored 1978
International Harvester Scout II. Finished in Terra Cotta with a
white Rallye stripe and gold wagon wheels, it's an exceptionally
straight and solid truck that never fails to turn heads. Well
optioned, well documented and well sorted, it's also turn-key
mechanically and has cold A/C. Correct to the factory line setting
ticket in nearly every way.
Originally sold in Cullman, Alabama, this Scout has remained a dry,
southern truck since new aside from a brief stint in New Hampshire
(where it was not driven in the winter). Body panels and floor pans
are original with no rust or accident damage, ever. Aside from
newer carpet and floor mats, the interior is completely original.
Nice crack-free dash, clear and working gauges, original AM/FM
stereo. Minor wear on the outer edge of the driver's seat back, but
the original upholstery is otherwise in near-perfect condition.
Under the hood is the original IH 345 cubic inch V8 mated to a
TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission; the truck was optioned with
a limited slip rear axle and factory a/c. Runs and drives well;
lots of recent records and all service is up to date. A/C has been
upgraded to a modern rotary compressor running R-134a and blows
cold.
Original owner's manual, radio instruction book, line setting
ticket, original pre-delivery service checklist and selling
dealer's invoice included. For more information about this 1978
