Vehicle Description
We sold this car in 1993, I was the salesman. We just purchased it
from the estate of the owner. Aside from upkeep it is just as we
sold it 25 years ago. I've seen hundreds of thousands since and I
still remember this "Blue Bayou". It has a cool 50s style
custom.
EXTERIOR: The paint is over 25 years old so it has some cracking in
places, touch up but overall is good. No rust or significant damage
showing. Has 50s style hand pinstriping. The chrome and trim are in
fantastic condition. Up front the entire grill area, bumpers,
emblem, hood ornament, even the rings around the headlights are
mint. In back the bumper, trunk lock housing, emblem and taillight
bezels are mint. The stainless side moldings, window trim and
optional stone shields are excellent. Some extra dress up items
include chrome 1/4 panel spears, Lake pipes, dummy spot lights,
upgraded hood ornament, fuel door gaurd and of course it has blue
dot taillights. It also has deluxe hubcaps with teim rings, in
great shape. Glass looks good.
INTERIOR: It actually is very nice inside. This car is the Business
Coupe which means there's no back seat, just a big floor board for
the salesman's suitcases and selling aids. The upholstery was all
redone in black with vertical lines. The seat, side panels are
excellent. Headliner was replaced but is wrinkled. Dash area looks
great. Has been hand pinstriped, gauges and knobs are nice. Has
extra chrome plating- window frames, speaker grill, clock housing.
There's a set of auxiliary gauges mounted under the dash, dice
knobs, seat belts and a big chrome foot for a gas pedal.
MOTOR COMPARTMENT: Has the ole flathead V-8. Runs smooth! Has 8
volt battery for a little extra cranking power.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Has the cardboard encloser, rubber mat and spare
with custom cover.
UNDERSIDE: We just replaced wheel cylinders and brakes.
