Vehicle Description
Here's the kind of high-quality restoration that wins awards. This
1966 Ford Mustang GT is complete right down to the tags and decals.
But more than just detail-oriented, you want this coupe because
it's a slick full midnight package wrapped around an A/C interior,
a powerful V8, and four-on-the-floor. So it's the perfect classic
to show off and then enjoy the long way home.
Raven Black is one of the coolest ways to represent this American
icon. This dark mirror shine on the coupe body is the most
intimating way to distinguish your Mustang from the more friendly
pony cars out there. There's only about 50 miles on this car since
its full restoration, and so the black has a fresh and sleek look.
This also helps to highlight the straightness of the sheetmetal.
Plus, this one has all the right GT equipment, including the fog
lights in the grille, the badges on the fender, special gas cap,
and the bright trumpet-style exhaust coming through the rear
valance. Of course, there's no missing aggressively red GT stripe
along the rockers. It not only adds some distinction against the
black paint, but also the red goes nicely with the center caps of
the iconic styled steel wheels (there's also a set of redline tires
to complete this total package.)
The black interior just seems like the perfect color for an
aggressive Mustang like this. Not only does it match the exterior,
but also this has the ultra-desirable premium "pony" package on the
bucket seats. In-between them is the wood paneling and bright trim
running down the center console that coordinates with the paneling
on the dash for a very nice overall thoughtful build. And speaking
of thoughtful touches, have you spotted all the reproduction tags?
It makes picking this one up from us feel like driving out of the
Ford dealer in '66! This offers a terrific time-capsule like
feeling as you grip the shifter in your right hand, grab the
three-spoke steering wheel with your left, and stare at the full
round gauge package. Even the AM radio is correct! And you'll be
especially happy that the factory air conditioner is still blowing
nice and cold.
This is an A-code car, and so it's great to see a performance 289
cubic-inch V8 under the hood. The consignor also states this is the
original motor to the car. This engine bay received just as much
meticulous attention during the restoration as the rest of the
coupe. The Ford blue air cleaner and valve covers radiate brightly
within the dark engine bay. And all the details are present,
including the decals, Ford-stamped hoses, correct coolant bag, and
even the air conditioner has the correct tag. And as you look at
the undercarriage, they even remembered to get the red oxide right!
But beyond just the attention-grabbing components that impress at
car shows, this motor has real performance substance. As an A-code
car, and so it should be no surprise that there is a four-barrel
carburetor on this V8. It exhales with a commanding presence
through a stainless dual exhaust. The four-speed manual
transmission gives you full control over the V8. Plus, the power
steering, front disc brakes, and wide BF Goodrich tires make this
confident on the road.
Complete with a large restoration photo file and reproduction
window sticker, this is a complete and amazing pony. So if you want
to get as close to factory fresh as possible, don't miss this
