For Sale: 1972 Volkswagen Dune Buggy in Beverly, Massachusetts
"There was a time when dune buggies were all the rage. They were
found everywhere: streets, dunes, mountains, racing, camping,
interstates... Their popularity peaked in the 1970s and then
politicians began banning them from dunes and sometimes even
streets. Although there will probably never be such a wide-open
range for buggies to roam as there once was, the sport is making a
comeback." - John McCabe
This 1972 fiber glass body sits on a 1963 Volkswagen chassis. The
1200cc Volkswagen motor is equipped with a Judson supercharger.
Bugcity in Connecticut rebuilt the motor and more in 2015. The
4-speed manual transmission makes for a fun drive cruising down the
street in this licensed vehicle. The Metallic Orange body gets lots
of looks thumbs up at every intersection. When strapped in to the
bucket seats by the two-point racing belts you can have a great
time on a summer drive!
