On offer: My 1959 Jaguar MK IX (Mark 9). 10,000 total MK IX’s were produced 1959-61. They were expensive to maintain and now to restore. So, they have had poor survival numbers and are relatively rare, especially in this condition. This Jag looks and drives beautifully, cruising on the highway at 65 mph. It has its original straight 6 cyl, DOHC, 3.8L XK engine and Borg Warner DG 3 speed auto box. The engine was completely rebuilt and has less than 500 miles. The transmission was rebuilt by the maven of Jag Borg Warners, Vintage Jag Works, and has travelled less than 500 miles since the rebuild. It had a respray in the original factory colors (Mist Grey over Cornish Grey) and all body rubber was replaced at that time. There are new grey hides on the seats. Door cards, armrests, and trim were recovered in matching vinyl. Walnut dash, door trim, fold down trays, and magazine rack have been refinished. The original in-door tool kits are present and almost complete as is the tire jack and driver's manual. The car has the standard equipment, manually operated sunroof. It also has the period Smith's Radiomobile AM radio. All gauges work. It is shod with nearly new Coker wide white wall radial tires. The following is a partial list of restoration work done: Full engine rebuild, full Transmission rebuild, Exhaust Manifolds media blasted and powder coated, Carbs rebuilt, 2 new fuel pumps, 2 new 6 V batteries (original set-up), new coil, new thermostat, speedo rebuilt and new cable, brake system rebuilt, generator rebuilt, starter rebuilt, power steering pump rebuilt, new steering rack, new front bushings, new shocks, new bulbs all around, new body rubber, new "furflex" door seals. This car is show and concours ready (it won 1st in its division in a large show 5/20/18). This a very nice car, and ready for its owner to start enjoying immediately.
