Vehicle Description
Introduced in 1970, the second generation Firebird was only
available as a fastback coupe. Designed in tandem with the
Chevrolet Camaro, the Firebird was a popular halo car for the
Pontiac range. Government regulations started killing muscle cars
in the 1970's left and right. However, Pontiac kept producing the
Firebird Trans-am at the brink of what was allowed (with perhaps
some fudging of some horsepower numbers). Of course, Smokey and the
Bandit made the late 70's models highly desired iconic pieces of
cultural automotive history that are incredibly easy to
recognize.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1979 Pontiac Firebird
Trans Am for your consideration. The car is powered by a 403 CID v8
paired to an automatic transmission. The car runs and shifts as it
should. The car has been owned by the current owner for the last 16
years and has been babied and loved the whole time. According to
the owner, it is a numbers matching car. Along with the sale of the
car comes a large folder of receipts of minor mechanical work done
over the years. According to the owner the camshaft has been
upgraded and the heads have been ported and polished. The car shows
some aging but still is very presentable. Highlights include dual
exhaust, T-tops, BFG Goodrich radial tires, Clarion CD player,
bucket seats, center console, radial tuned suspension, Infiniti
door speakers, and 15 inch factory wheels.
