The popularity of the Chevelle series has grown steadily over the
years and now there is a renewed interest in the early models. The
1964 Chevelle was the first in Chevrolet's intermediate series
designed to fill the gap between the Chevy II and the full sized
Impala. This top of the line Malibu series convertible is powered
by a "JD" code 283 C.I. V8 mated to an automatic transmission. Many
of the options presented here (15" rally wheels, dual exhaust
system and a cloth "Stayfast" convertible top) were added during
restoration. Nassau Blue is a beautiful color on its own, but when
properly applied to a laser straight body, the result is truly
stunning. The depth and clarity of the finish are exceptional as
are the gaps and panel fit. This beautiful example exemplifies the
concept of what Chevrolet envisioned in an attractive midsized
