Vehicle Description
Pedigree Motorcars is proud to offer this beautiful 1979
Mercedes-Benz 450SEL. For details and information contact Ken Baker
at 561-866-1601. For nearly a decade the W116 body Mercedes-Benz
was hailed as the most advanced, finest driving, and safest luxury
sedan on the market. Even by todays advanced standards, these are
magnificent driving cars. They are reliable, spacious, and
wonderful high-speed road cars. These cars were offered in many
different engine choices and body styles. Offered in a short or
long wheelbase, the 450SEL is the most desirable of all. It has the
4.5 L V8 engine with a longer wheelbase for a very spacious rear
seat. Our car is quite unique. This Anthracite Grey metallic with
Palomino leather has had two owners. The previous owner had it for
over 15 years. During his ownership the car received a high quality
repaint. Extensive service was performed on the car to maintain it
to the highest standards. Over $10,000 of work has been done in the
past two years with less than 600 miles being put on the car. We
have full documentation to show everything that was recently done.
We wanted to make sure this car was completely turnkey and
mechanically as desirable as it is cosmetically. As with all of our
cars it has received a thorough inspection and service. To get this
car ready for sale we performed: Change oil and filter Replace left
high beam bulb Replace front indicator socket Replace steering
shock Replace rear brake pads, rotors, grease friction points
Evacuate and recharge AC system Replace rear windshield seal
Replace left front bumper shock Replace right front window switch
Repair center console We are as delighted with the way this car now
drives as we are with the way it looks. This car is an absolute
pleasure. It is tight, fast, and takes you back to 1979 in your
mind. Every switch and control works as it should. Even the Air
condition is ice cold and blows hard through the center vents.
There are no vacuum leaks. The original Becker radio looks perfect
and all of the controls work as designed. Inside there are no
cracks on the dashboard or door panels. They are perfect. The
leather shows virtually no wear on the front passenger seat and the
rear seat. The driver seat shows very minimal wear. The wood is
nearly perfect. All of the gauges are crystal-clear, all of the
graphics on the buttons are still beautiful, and every light bulb
in the instrument panel works. Outside, the paint gleams, as does
the chrome. The engine compartment of this car looks nearly the way
it did 38 years ago. The same can be said for the trunk with the
original carpeting is still perfect and the spare tire and wheel
look brand new. Painted in Anthracite Grey metallic with Palomino
leather, this 450SEL is in a classic color combination. It has no
rust anywhere and would be a proud car to drive or show. Included
with the purchase of this Mercedes are: Three original master keys
Original first aid kit Owners manual Carpeted mats Documentation
showing $10,000 of work having been completed in the past two years
and less than 600 miles. We encourage perspective buyers of this
special car to personally inspect it. Most of these cars have high
miles, rust, and are in A dilapidated state. This example has been
lovingly maintained throughout its life. It is one of the most
impressive on the market today. To find a 450SEL in equillivant
condition would be a tough challenge. At Pedigree Motorcars we show
cars by appointment only. To arrange your private showing contact
Ken Baker at 561-866-1601. Many additional photos available upon
request.
