Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1947 Hudson Commodore
Six for purchase. Hudson's were made in Detroit until 1954, when
they merged with Nash-Kelvinator to create American Motors (AMC).
The Commodore was produced from 1941 to 1952 (sans war years). The
Commodore was the largest and most luxurious Hudson model. The
Commodore is also lauded for being a creative product of Betty
Thatcher, the first female designer employed by a car
manufacturer.
According to the owner the motor was just rebuilt. The block was
bored .30 over and given new pistons and rings. The car fires right
up and runs and shifts as it should. The car features its 6
cylinder paired with a manual transmission. The car holds the road
well and handles well. The body is straight and solid and the paint
shows well. The interior is clean and tidy and freshly re done. The
car has a dash clock, original heater box, suicide rear doors, nice
chrome, large trunk area with full size spare tire, 15 inch factory
wheels with whitewall tires and more. The car also has new brakes
all the way around. This is a great car for the money and will not
last long.
