GR Auto Gallery is excited to present this 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL
Roadster for purchase. At the end of the run of the legendary R107
series, Mercedes sent their most powerful and loaded SL yet to the
United States. The engine improved in speed, torque, and
horsepower. The car also received a new rear suspension and a
limited-slip differential to better handle the added torque and
power. Mercedes also added anti-lock brakes, leather upholstery,
and an alarm system. Today, many enthusiasts gravitate towards the
560SL as it retains some of the original lines of the pagoda SL's
while carrying with it all of the R107's advances.
The 1988 Mercedes 560 offered here is a very tidy, well cared for
example that was sold new by Acme Motors of Traverse City, MI.
Originally titled in the State of Florida, the car in fact was kept
at a seasonal residence in northern Michigan and used as such. The
car is believed to have had only 3 owners, all with seasonal
residences in the same area. The car has been extremely well cared
for and consistently looked after by the Mercedes dealer in Acme,
MI as well as other highly regarded service providers. Today, at
121376 miles, the car remains in quite remarkable original
condition. The car appears to retain most (if not all) of its
original Artic White Factory paint over original burgundy leather
interior. The car comes complete with factory original hardtop,
soft top, original factory radio, original books with original port
folio, an extensive file of service history, original wheels, spare
etc.
The Mercedes 560sl is an iconic sports car that is destined for
collector car greatness. They are elegant, stylish, sporty,
performance driven and for the time being, relatively affordable.
These cars will increase in value. I can not think of a better way
to enjoy the summer of 2018 than in this 560sl Roadster.
