The Triumph Herald was first introduced in 1959 and endured a fantastic production run, making it all the way to 1971 before being replaced by the Triumph Toledo. It was first offered in a small two-door saloon, penned by Michelotti and offering a superb open and airy design. Later on, the Herald would go on to be offered in many different body styles including a convertible, a courier van, and the estate body as offered on this car.

This particular Triumph Herald Estate, chassis number GE67248SC, and engine number KF21887UE started life as a 1970 RHD drive model finished in Wedgwood blue with blue interior. It was built on May 8'th 1970 and delivered June 14'th 1970 to Lankesters Limited in Kingston-on-Thames in the UK. It was originally fitted with a heater, laminated windscreen, and tubeless tires. Not much is known about the cars early life but as the car currently sits it is fitted with the very unique aspect of having a full Triumph GT6+ drivetrain in the car. This fantastic drivetrain completely changes the driving experience from one that is mundane and slow to much faster and exhilarating. It is sure to leave a smile on the face of anyone who gets behind the wheel.

This little Herald could certainly be considered a bit of a sleeper. The charming and quirky looks from the outside are sure to attract viewers and passerby's alike but when you open the bonnet, the real shock and awe take place. The upgraded power plant moves this little estate car along at a brisk and lively pace as an exciting exhaust note emanates from the backend. The steering is responsive and nimble and the suspension tight and responsive. The combination of the looks and the driving manners are supremely British and it is truly a delightful little car to drive. This little herald is the perfect weekend picnic mobile with plenty of room in the back to load up food and entertainment and plenty of power and exhilaration up front to allow you to have fun on the way there. The perfect car to show and drive and sure-fire conversation starter.
