This 1978 Fairmont Futura looks virtually the same as when produced
by Ford in April of 1978. It is an original and the owner has
provided a Marti Autoworks Report to support its authenticity.
After limited use, the Futura was put in storage from 1987 until
2008. The current owner has service records available. Most of
these receipts are simply for maintenance procedures
(tune-up/fluids/filters, etc.) done by Ford technicians at
dealerships. The odometer reads less than 38,000 miles and the
service documentation certainly appears to confirm that figure as
accurate. Factory 'Polar White' paint with Chamois stripping is in
excellent condition. A 'Futura-only' 2-section vinyl top (aka. '55
Crown Victoria) is stunning and the original Chamois cloth/vinyl
interior shows very little wear. Our Fairmont is factory equipped
with power steering, power disc/drum brakes, AM/FM/8-track
Quadrasonic stereo and tinted windows. Horsepower is furnished by
the original 200ci straight six, running superbly, and backed by
Ford's C-4 3-speed automatic transmission equipped with a new
torque converter. Differential gearing is 2.73:1. The front struts
have also been replaced and steel wheels mount new Hankook radials
with classic FoMoCo wire wheel covers. Ford manufactured many
Fairmonts, but there are only a few around like this all-original
Futura. We can all-but-guarantee that none of your Blue Oval
friends have one of these Fords in their collection. Come take a
look - you will not be disappointed in the least. ALL VEHICLES SOLD
"AS IS".
