Vehicle Description
Conceived as a simple, cheap, easy to produce family car, the
Volkswagen K�fer translated from German into People's Car named
Beetle. The car went on to be extremely successful all over the
world and "Volkswagen Culture" defined generations of Americans. In
July 2003, the last Beetle rolled off the production line in
Mexico. Over 21 million units were produced and the little Beetle
came in fourth place in the worldwide "car of the century"
competition in 1999. The popular convertible model was built at the
Karman factory and very built until 1979.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this very nice 1974 Super
Beetle for your consideration. Owned since 2003, this Beetle has
been rebuilt and mildly upgraded. Noteable mods include shaved
front and rear bumpers, removed heat exchangers, lowered front
suspension, rebuilt and enlarged 1,641cc engine, and new 15in IMPI
wheels. The owner says that the suspension, brakes, wiring harness,
and tires are all new or been replaced. The interior features the
factory seats with new grey upholstering and it has a clean dash
with nice wood trim. There is a Pioneer radio installed and a
custom speaker box installed behind the rear seats. The entire car
was professionally repainted inside and out and is in a wonderful
bright red. The body also has new fenders, trunk lid, windshield,
headlights, and turn signals.
In wonderful shape and an excellent driver, this Beetle is sure to
please and has been well loved and is well sorted. It comes with
two keys as well as tons of receipts documenting the work and
history of this unique vehicle.
