Vehicle Description
This is one of those box body K-10 pickups that everybody seems to
be looking for these days. Strong, straight, and solid. They are
popular because they are good looking, capable, simple, and tough.
This one has had a nice midlife respray and while you can tell that
it served its owner well, you can also tell that it has been taken
care of.
These are just good-looking trucks with lines that will probably
never go out of style. The sloping hood and bulging fenders give it
a strong stance and muscular appearance. Up front the simple chrome
bumper sits under an eggcrate grill with a Chevy Bowtie in the
center and quad headlights off to the sides. A Scottsdale emblem
graces the front fender just below the line that creates the bulge
over the tire and which carries all the way back across the door
and the bed. Wheel wells are trimmed in chrome and wide body side
molding starts at the back of the front wheel and runs along the
beltline all the way around the truck. A diamond plate rear bumper
provides some traction when you step on it and there are diamond
plate trim pieces in the bed for the rails and tailgate. A trailer
hitch receiver is there just below the bumper for whatever it is
you wish to tow.
Open the door and you will find an interior that is mostly stock
and in nice shape with normal signs of wear. There is a bench seat
with a newer cover on it, and a nice Alpine head unit with Sony
speakers behind the seat for your listening pleasure. There is a
tilt steering column and a two spoke wheel in front of the stock
gauges for keeping track of your speed and basic engine functions.
A sliding glass window can be opened for some nice air flow, but
the ventilation controls include those for the A/C system too, so
you can stay nice and cool on those hot summer days. Both the
shifter for the 4-speed manual transmission and the lever for the
transfer case are mounted in the center of the floor. No need to
worry about muddy shoes or boots as the vinyl flooring is easy to
clean up when needed.
Under the hood is more evidence that this truck was well taken care
of. There is an Edelbrock air filter sitting on top of the polished
Edelbrock 4-barrel carb that's handling the fuel mixing duties. A
stock intake and cylinder heads get the job done distributing the
mixture to make good power, and finned valve covers not only look
good but help keep the oil cool too. There is a new alternator and
pulley as well as new hoses, belts, and newer A/C lines. The truck
has power steering and brakes, so both the pump and the booster are
obvious in the engine bay. Solid axles sit on leaf springs front
and rear with manual hubs for engaging the front axle and
33X12.50R15 tires mount on great looking Procomp alloys to put the
power on the ground.
Good looking, capable, simple, and tough. Isn't this the kind of
truck you are looking for?
