Car currently for sale on consignment at Volo Auto Museum in Volo, Illinois.
Rare 1958 Bel-Air 2-Door Hardtop Sport model. You come across 58 Impalas occasionally but the Bel-Air Hardtop is a rare duck. You can go through a few seasons of car shows and never come across one. This is a solid California car that retains all of it's original sheet metal and trim. Very solid car.
Motor: Very strong GM Crate 350-290 HP Motor with polished ceramic headers, Edelbrock carb, intake. 8,000 miles on current drivetrain. Lots of chrome-starter, alternator, air filter cover, and more. Motor is dialed in, starts easy, idles easy, and has great acceleration. Dependable driver!
Transmission: Automatic 700R4 with OD, column shift, with 3:08 rear end for easy highway cruising
Just added new Be Cool aluminum radiator with new hoses, thermostat, and matching recovery tank
Car rides on new Ridler polished 15" rims and Uniroyal Tiger-Paw Touring radials
Front disc brakes and rear drum brakes installed for safe braking.
Car has power steering and power brakes too!
Installed new Dakota dashboard gauges, which appear old-school analog, and provide vitals of engine performance while fitting well into the period correct look
Car also has Vintage Air & heat, which blows strong for both.
Just installed new Interstate battery as well for sure starts with Petronix Flamethrower electronic ignition and coil for reliable operation. Just tuned up with new AC Delco plugs and wires.
Interior has period correct dark blue vinyl seats that are in very good condition, as is the matching carpet, and lighter blue headliner. Also has custom embroidered Bel-Air floor mats. I often get compliments as to the exterior paint color and interior colors at local car shows. They are subtle and compliment each other very well. Interior also has a new old school look Chevy radio with USB connection in glove box, side speakers, and custom enclosures under the front seat.
Car has twin Magnaflow mufflers and polished exhaust tips routed out the back of the rear bumper. Very nice rumble tones courtesy of the flat tappet cam.
The reason that I am selling this vehicle is that there will soon be a new Bel-Air hotrod coming into the stable and unfortunately, I cannot keep both vehicles.
This is a rare, very solid performer, and would be an excellent ride for both the first-time classic car enthusiast, as well as the seasoned collector that is looking to add to their collection.
The car has been meticulously maintained, utilizing the best products (Royal Purple synthetic oil with Zinc, Be-Cool anti-freeze, Lucas grease, etc.)
This car is a nice, solid performer that will put a smile on your face!
Comes with original 14" radial tires (in excellent condition), steel hubcaps, and $300 custom breathable, waterproof car cover.
