Vehicle Description
This 1959 Classic Jeep Willys CJ-3B retains its original 134ci
F-head engine that has been rebuilt and upgraded with an electronic
ignition and backed by a rebuilt 4-speed T98 manual transmission.
It has 12-volt conversion, electric wipers and a modern alternator.
The Dana 18 twin-stick transfer case has been rebuilt and upgraded
with a Teraflex 3.15 low-range gear set. The Jeep has been upgraded
with power steering and disc brakes, and a Dana 30 open-knuckle
front axle that has a 5.38 gear ratio, locking differential and
WARN locking hubs. The upgraded offset Dana 44 rear axle has
flanged one-piece axles with a 5.38 gear ratio and locking
differential. The upgraded suspension includes Wrangler leaf
springs that are wider and longer to improve ride quality. The
classic body retains its fold down windshield and has been painted
in base coat/clear coat white paint. The interior retains its
original bucket seats that have been recently been reupholstered. A
full roll cage tied to the frame doubles as an auxiliary air tank.
The interior floors have been bed-lined for durability. There is a
modern Flex-a-Lite heater under the dash. The new Bestop soft-top
with removable doors folds down for open-air enjoyment. Up front
resides a dependable WARN 8274 winch along with tow-bar brackets
and wiring attached to the front bumper and frame. The new radial
Super Swampers on aluminum wheels combine a modern comfortable ride
and handling on road with the maximum off-road gripping traction.
This Willys won first prize for the Best Antique at the 2017 Great
American Jeep Rally.
