As the follow-up to the successful 458, Ferrari introduced the 488 in 2016 as successor. When first unveiled, it made waves in the automotive world with the announcement that the engine displacement would be smaller than the outgoing 458 and utilize a twin-turbo setup, a first for a flagship-model Ferrari. The end result was a 3.9-liter V8 rated at 660 horsepower capable of revving to 8,000 rpm, making that trademark Ferrari exhaust note. Aerodynamics were heavily emphasized during the development, with an almost a 50% increase in downforce over the 458 with even aerodynamic drag. An aluminum monocoque with carbon-fiber components helps minimize weight, allowing for a power-to-weight ratio matching Ferrari’s even more powerful F12 Berlinetta.
Finished in the classic shade of Grigio Silverstone, this 2018 488 GTB has covered just over 200 miles since it was purchased new. It came equipped with a plethora of optional carbon-fiber components, including rear air ducts, side splitter and wheel center caps.
