Vehicle Description
This 1964 Chevrolet Nova is fresh off a restoration that not only
added a modern fuel-injected V8, but also super slick paint, a
fresh A/C interior, and serious suspension upgrades. So if you're
ready for details on the best of everything, read on.
The Midnight Indigo Blue paint on this coupe has so much metallic
finish that it even radiates light indoors (so just wait until you
see it in the sunshine!) There has been a serious investment in a
frame-off restoration of this Chevy, and that all happened less
than 700 miles ago. That's why the details still are so crisp. The
mirror-like chrome bumpers, complete window trim, and many of the
other striking factory elements are the product of time and money
poured in this coupe. But you also instantly know there were plenty
of custom touches to give this an attitude all of its own. The new
headlights with LED surrounds, lowered stance, and large Intro GT
sport wheels signal to everyone that there has also been a solid
investment in this classic Chevy's performance.
The interior is the right mix of vintage pieces and newer comfort.
It starts up front with the ultraleather bucket seats. These have
modern bolstering so it has a level of all-day comfort you couldn't
find in the '60s. The black seats coordinate very nicely with the
carpeting, headliner, and refinished factory door panels to give
this a very uniform feeling. The dash retains the Nova's original
uncluttered feeling, but now it contains all the right upgrades.
For example, that resto style knob radio is really an AM/FM/XM
digital tuner that has modern connections for USB and Bluetooth.
Plus, everyone stays cool with air conditioning that's running
modern R134a. But the best upgrades are all about performance. You
get a black and chrome steering wheel mounted on an Ididit tilt
steering column. And beyond that the upgraded Dakota Digital gauge
package utilizes the factory space, but it now offers a complete
view on what's going on under the hood.
The engine bay has a fantastic presentation. Smooth and bright
fender walls draw attention to the modern V8 shoehorned into this
compact rocket ship. This is a fuel-injected LS2 V8 that was
rebuilt for this Nova. It now includes a Comp Cams camshaft,
Spectre cold air intake, Kwik Performance serpentine belt system,
and an Entropy aluminum radiator. The total package is rated at
about 420 horsepower, and the full ceramic-coated dual exhaust does
a fantastic job of announcing this superior power to the world. And
make sure you take some time to look at the path of these pipes in
the undercarriage photos, because there you'll also spot some of
your favorite parts of the build. The front end was upgraded to a
TCI chromoly tubular front A-arms with adjustable coilovers. The
full custom rear includes control arms, adjustable coilovers, and a
3.73 rear end with Positraction. Plus, you have Wilwood four-wheel
disc brakes and Continental Extreme Contact tires for superior
control. And with features like the power steering and the 4L65E
four-speed automatic transmission w/highway-friendly overdrive,
this powerful classic is also an all-around great any time
driver.
This is one of those amazing cars where you can document the whole
build with the included receipts, restoration photos, and even the
