Vehicle Description
Magnificent example of a '70 Torino Cobra 429 with 31,324 original
miles (miles not indicated on title). 1970 was a very successful
year for the Torino and it was selected as Motor Trend's "Car of
the Year." As the Deluxe Marti Report documents, this car was
shipped to Roper Auto Sales, located in Seneca, SC. It was
purchased new by Murray Cochran, who lived in Toccoa, GA, on
November 21, 1969, as documented on the original Ford Owner Card,
which is included. The original owner's manuals are also included.
This car was ordered with the following options: electric clock,
F70x14 belted raised-white-letter tires, console, power front disc
brakes, power steering, AM/FM stereo radio and complete tinted
glass. This car is one of only 7,675 Torino Cobras produced in
1970. It's one of only 1,115 with this paint code and one of only
1,357 with this engine/transmission code. This car was a very
original low-mileage car prior to the restoration. Many of the
original parts were restored during the restoration. It was
restored to a very high quality, unlike many Torinos that have been
restored. It retains the original sheet metal, and the body is very
straight with excellent gaps throughout. The hood, doors and trunk
lid open and close so nicely. The car sports its original color of
red, which fits this car very well. The paint job is beautiful and
attracts attention. The car retains the original red interior that
complements the exterior very nicely. The original interior is
almost 50 years old and is in excellent condition. The detailed
trunk compartment is home to the spare tire and jack tools. The
engine compartment is factory-correct and highly detailed. The car
retains the original matching-numbers 429-4V Cobra Jet Ram Air V8
engine. The engine runs and sounds great. The engine is coupled to
the original matching-numbers C6 automatic transmission. The power
is transferred through the original matching-numbers rear end with
3.50 gears. The entire drivetrain was cosmetically cleaned and not
rebuilt during the restoration. The undercarriage is
factory-correct and highly detailed throughout. This car has been
serviced and completely detailed. From the MS Classic Cars
Collection.
