Vehicle Description
1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass W31 For Sale - Numbers Matching Engine,
Frame Off Restoration LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1969
Oldsmobile Cutlass W31 For 1969, the W-31 option was largely the
same, though the Ram Rod 350 decals were gone from the fenders,
replaced by small "W-31" decals near the marker lights. The ram-air
air cleaner lid still carried the Ram Rod name, and beneath it was
essentially the same hardware. Buyers still admired the smaller 350
engines because the W31 package delivered plenty of performance
without alerting insurance underwriters of its performance
potential. This lowered car insurance premiums in an era when
under-30 drivers often faced equal-sum vehicle loan payments and
car insurance bills. Separating the W31 350 from lesser Olds 350
engines were its performance-calibrated Quadrajet 4-barrel
carburetor, high overlap camshaft, 10.5:1 compression, heavy-duty
radiator and power-saving clutch-type cooling fan. This resulted in
engine performance figures of 325 horsepower at 5400 rpm and a
healthy exhaust burble at idle thanks to the hot cam. The camshaft
used in this W31 package had a very aggressive lift/duration
causing the motor to create little to no vacuum. This created a
problem for power brake boosters which rely on engine vacuum to
operate. Thus, all W31s featured manual front drumbrakes, as seen
on this correctly restored example. This Oldsmobile W31 is factory
finished in the beautiful Trophy Blue paint with White stripes
complemented by a Off White Interior. Powered by its numbers
matching Ram Rod 350 engine and numbers matching Muncie M20
transmission 4-speed. It is very nicely optioned with Console,
Clock, AM Radio, W31 Engine Package, Bucket Seats, and Tinted
Glass. This well optioned W31 has been treated to a frame off
restoration to a show quality standard. The engine bay is nicely
detailed with the nickel-infused blocks which wears the correct
gold paint, a 395558-casting number, and a matching VIN derivative
stamp just under the driver side head. The undercarriage is also
nicely detailed from the floor pans to the suspension components.
This W31 Cutlass also comes with plenty of documentation including
Broadcast Sheet, Owner's Manual, and Warranty Plan Pamphlet. With
its numbers-matching drivetrain, documentation, and frame off
restoration this Oldsmobile W31 is the perfect addition to any
collection. Additional Details: 1969 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS W31 -
