2003 Aston Martin Vanquish V12
History
The Aston Martin Vanquish is a super grand tourer introduced by
British car manufacturer Aston Martin in 2001 as a successor to the
ageing Virage range.
The Aston Martin V12 Vanquish was designed by Ian Callum and bore a
large resemblance to the production DB7 Vantage. The car debuted
with a V12 engine at the North American International Auto Show in
January 1998.
The first-generation V12 Vanquish prototype, was driven by James
Bond in the 2002 film Die Another Day.
Why This Car Is Special
You do not have to be James Bond to drive one now because we have
one here at Skyway Classics. The total number of these that were
built for 2003 was an even 100 cars and they sold out early,
according to Automotive News. So, the chances of finding one as
nice as ours For Sale is rare.
Mechanical
The amazing engine is a 6.0 Litre V-12, 48-valve 60 one, producing
460 Horse Power and 400 lbft of torque. It is controlled by a
drive-by-wire throttle and a six-speed Electrohydraulic manual
transmission.
Underneath, the car featured a strong aluminium/carbon fiber
composite chassis with Rear-wheel Drive, ABS 4-wheel Power brakes,
and driveline Traction control, dual exhaust system, 19" silver
factory aluminum Wheels, and performance tires.
Built on a 106-inch wheelbase, the V12 Vanquish measures 183.7
inches long overall and stands 51.9 inches tall. The close-ratio
six-speed-manual transmission uses fingertip-actuated Formula
One-style paddles to produce gear changes; the gearbox can also be
used in automatic mode. A special shifting program is tailored for
winter weather conditions.

Exterior
The main body structure of our V12 Vanquish is painted a regal
Titanium Silver Metallic that utilizes carbon fiber, extruded
aluminum and composite materials that are bonded together to form a
central safety cell in a process also used in the aerospace
industry. Aston Martin says its lighter, stiffer and stronger than
conventional body construction that utilizes bolts or welding. The
automaker also claims it provides improved crash protection.
It has side vents and a large grille that is flanked by bold
auxiliary driving lamps, the V12 looks superb. The front fenders
and hood panels incorporate finely detailed compound curves that
sweep back to steeply raked windshield pillars and a low, curving
roofline. Deeply sculptured sill and door panels accentuate the
classic profile, and larger trapezoidal taillights sit in a
slightly higher, arching tail. A chrome racing-style fuel filler is
used.
