For Sale: 1970 MG MGB GT in Glendale, California

Vehicle Description

For Sale is my 1970 MBG GT. [Dog not included].

I’ve owned this great little car for about 6 years. It’s never left me stranded. It’s fun to drive, especially up Angeles Crest or one of the other many winding roads around here. Nearly always starts on first try. It runs very strong. I would trust it on a long road trip. It would be a reliable daily driver. I have been driving it 1-2 times a month for the past couple years, it’s just not what I need at this time. Time for someone else to enjoy it.

Mechanical: Very Good condition. Strong, freshly rebuilt engine - Barely leaks a drop of oil.
* Odometer shows 97,863
* Approx. 2100 miles on rebuilt engine. (11/2015, 95,738 mi), Broken in, rings are seated. Work done by Darrin's MG in Chatsworth.
* Bored 0.60 over
* Performance cam
* 4-Speed Transmission (no overdrive). All gears synchro nicely.
* Tourist Trophy exhaust (sounds so sweet but occasionally sets off car alarms)
* New gas tank & sender
* New Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator – keeps the temps low in LA traffic!
* Electrical: Headlamps (incl. bright), rear running lights, rear brake lights, turn signals, interior lights, horn all operate. Windshiield washer pump needs to be replaced, Hazard flashers do not currently operate.
*Shocks rebuilt about 3000 miles or so ago.
*The doors all lock, the windows all roll up and down.
*The gauges all work.
*Tires have plenty of wear left on them and there is a spare in the trunk (with the original jack).

Exterior: Good condition. It’s a 20-30-footer.
* Original Paint (Bronze Yellow). The paint looks great for an original 48-year old paint job. Has a ding or two here and there.
* Rust: the underside looks good - no noticeable rust under the car. There is a rust bubble in the lower part of the rear window.Trunk section cut out and replaced due to some rust on top of the gas tank (a common rust spot).  The sills look good to me.
* Damage/Repair: I was rear-ended (very lightly, but enough to dent the rear body panel). It was repaired, but the back panel has a noticeable difference in paint.  Work done by Classic Auto Restoration in Van Nuys.
* The hood (bonnet) has a ding near the passenger side hinge, and also a few small dents at the very front where the hood finisher is.
* There is a hole where an antenna used to be – I plugged it with a plastic plug.
* The grille is all there, but it’s not perfect and could be very presentable by a skilled hand

Interior: Good condition. Clean & comfortable, with that old-car smell.
* Headliner is intact, but it’s discolored. Same with the visors.
* The door panels are ok,
* Front seats are in good condition., New headrests, rear seat upholstery
* Carpeting is a couple years old, but in decent shape.
* The dash is in decent condition – It has one small crack (near heater control). The previous owner installed a dash cap. Otherwise, the dash looks great. Pillow notwithstanding. ;)

This car wont disappoint. Its exactly what you see.  It runs great and is very reliable.  I would trust it on a long road trip, or as a daily commuter.
