Outstanding Fully Documented 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351
Fastback
New to our Benicia showroom is this outstanding 1971 Ford Mustang
Boss 351 2 Door Fastback with a factory 351 cid V-8 engine (4V), a
numbers-matching four speed wide ratio manual transmission, a Hurst
shifter, power front disc brakes, dual ram induction, competition
suspension, a 3.91 rear axle with traction lock differential, an
upgraded cooling package and Magnum 500 chrome wheels. The
exterior is light Pewter Metallic with black racing stripes and a
very rare Ginger Ruffino interior with high back bucket seats and
this amazing muscle car is in exceptional factory condition after a
multi-year restoration effort. With a mere 50k lifetime miles and
excellent lifetime documentation, this is one of the most
impressive examples we've seen in quite some time.
Numbers Matching Engine, Transmission, Rear End, Carburetor &
More
The current owner of this 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 Fastback
informs us that he has documentation and receipts dating all the
way back to when this sensational muscle car was new, along with
mileage docs back into the 1980's. Only 1,806 examples were
produced with this drivetrain configuration and 109 with this rare
paint/trim package. We also have a Marti Report on file along with
the factory invoice, the factory user guide and manual, plus
hundreds of service receipts from over the years.
Additionally, this 1971 Mustang Boss 351 Fastback underwent a
complete rotisserie restoration back in the early 2000's with every
component being restored or replaced back to OEM standards. The
current owner has a CD full of pictures and receipts from the build
and he informs us that the drivetrain, carburetor, suspension and
rear end are all still original. Likewise, it still sits on the
original frame with all factory body panels and trim to the
exterior, with only a select few interior pieces being replaced to
keep it at show quality levels.
Completely Restored in Early 2000's to Show-Quality Standards
Shortly after being fully restored, this 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351
Fastback was featured on the cover of Mustang Monthly magazine in
January of 2002. It has been driven a negligible amount since that
time and the condition is still exceptional and bordering on
like-new throughout. The well-sorted engine compartment shows no
real signs of wear and runs flawlessly with a great note coming
from the exhaust. The exterior, interior and undercarriage are
just as impressive with only the slightest of visible
imperfections. Although no classic muscle car is ever considered
"perfect", the attention to detail on this example makes it come
exceedingly close throughout.
Out on the open road, few classics can impress the way that this
1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 does. The factory upgraded suspension
hugs the road as if it's floating on air. The horsepower and
torque to the wheels are excellent and this one gets down the road
in a hurry. The overall ride quality is exceptional at virtually
any speed.
Featured on Mustang Monthly Cover in January 2002
Overall, this 1971 Ford Mustang Boss 351 Fastback is one of the
nicest original muscle cars we've come across in years and the
outstanding documentation and low mileage clearly places this one
in a class of its own. Combined with the rare factory interior
trim, you simply will not find a more desirable, better maintained
example anywhere in the continental US at this time at any asking
price- there's no way this one lasts for long on the open market.
