This car was state of the art in Championship Auto Racing (C.A.R.T.).  This was the “mule” or text car that started all the PC-Chassis that followed. This was the most successful design Robin Hood created for Roger Penske. This type of chassis would win in Indianapolis four times and became the most successful type of car Penske owned, winning in both U.S.A.C. and C.A.R.T. racing. Owned by Roger “The Captain” Penske; built by Penske in London, England; driven by Rick Mears & Danny Sullivan; restored by Billy Bignotti, son of chief mechanic George Bignotti. Ilmor Chevrolet V8 159 CI Turbo, SN 001, Monoque Carbon Fiber Tub, all around inboard shocks and springs, push pole suspension.
