Vehicle Description
This is a really pretty Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham sedan
out-fitted in white and mid-blue linen vinyl top, with Ivory
leather interior and blue carpets & dash. The overall combination
presents very elegantly indeed. This particular Cadillac was
delivered new inCalifornia where it then resided for most of its
life on the west coast, coming to Illinois less than 10 years ago.
The body on this car is quite straight. Looking under the hood and
trunk is evident of its originality. The car has been repainted at
some stage (samecolour) and presents well for driver quality and
use. There are some minor marks, blemishes and chips here and there
from normal use but overall presents shiny and clean. To make it
clear, it is not of any show quality standard but presents well
being consistent overall. The "linen" vinyl top is the factory
original and is in excellent condition without fading or
sun-damage. The interior of the car is in great condition, even
though the leather does show some signs of age, it presents with an
acceptable level of patina and not coming across as "too perfect".
The door panels are excellent and the real Walnut wood panel
inserts are excellent as well. Carpet and headliner are good but
the dash does have some cracks with the climate control grill
broken but on order for replacement if required. The dash fascia
and instrument panel is excellent with good chrome and switch gear.
The steering wheel rim is good shape, bar for the centre button
which would look better replaced. Interior features and functions
are operational including electrics - windows (8 side window
option), seat, gauges, lights etc. The A/C needs attention as it is
not blowing cold. The clock keeps its own time. Everything is
generally clean and crisp. All the knobs, centre switches, radio
and surrounding bright-work finishers are in great shape and look
quasi brochure look. Exterior chrome and bright work finishes are
all good and present well. The grill is clean and straight.
Exterior lights are all good but for a slight mis-alignment in the
right rear tail lens. Mechanically, the caris good condition and
the clean and original presentation under the bonnet clearly shows
that. The engine runs strong and the trans changes smooth. The
front-end feels tight (although not inspected) and power steering
light and smooth. Exhaust is good and tyres in decent shape. The
56,300 miles is not verifiable but everything about the car
certainly supports it to be a low mileage example. This is a 9 out
of 10 driver example that would make for a gorgeous "weekender" -
one that you could take to your next Cadillac meet with joy. There
are not many left available in this condition. Please take the time
to look at the photo link below to many additional photos where I
have endeavored to capture how pretty this car is. Please feel free
to ask any and all questions you may have as it is an as-is
auction. ~~ Being a significantly well-above average example of a
mid 60's Brougham, this will bring a good value and is priced
accordingly. Notwithstanding, sensible offers are welcomed. ~~
