29022353 was completed on March 6, 1969 in Olive (6835) over Black
Leather (9822), optionally fitted with 5-speed transmission,
ventilated chrome wheels (5.5x15 w/ 165VR15 Semperit tires),
bumperettes f/r, tinted glass all around, antenna (left),
loudspeaker in dashboard, and special paint according to special
color book.
This particular 912 is said to have spent the majority of its life
in Southern California, and its remarkably solid body / floor pans
truly attest to the "California Car" stereotype. Visually striking,
the Porsche's cabin upholstery remains correct in appearance,
featuring fairly recent leather seating (Auto International 2013),
German perlon carpeting (2013) and complimenting Coco mats, along
with a period correct Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio. The exterior
received a repaint to period Tangerine (code 6809) several years
ago, with new rubbers throughout in 2012. All side glass is
original. The exterior is further complimented by 15-inch deep dish
Fuchs (refinished by Harvey Weidman), Euro H4 headlamps, and
correct OEM Hella 139 fog lamps.
Drivability and power of this 912 is outstanding. The Porsche's
original numbers-matching engine and transmission were rebuilt in
2013 (or about 8,000 miles ago), along with succeeding tune-ups and
adjustments commissioned in 2015, 16, 17 and 18. Both engine and
luggage compartments are exceptionally tidy and largely correct in
appearances. The front contains an original 1/69 date stamped spare
wheel with what appears to be the original Semperit tire, as well
as an original jack, tommy bar and tire iron. Additionally, this
car is complete with correct Driver's Manual in vinyl jacket,
servicing records in binder and Porsche Certificate of
Authenticity.
