The Pontiac Firebird is an automobile that was built by GM from
1967 through 2002. It was introduced the same year as the
platform-sharing Chevrolet Camaro. During that 35 years of
production they only had four different generations of major
styling changes.
The Firebird we are pleased to present here is next on the short
list to becoming the next generation of muscle cars and next on the
list to be considered affordable classics. This 1988 Pontiac Trans
AM GTA is in excellent running and cosmetic condition for its age,
and is a blast to drive. The 5.7 liter 350 v8 fires right up and is
paired to an automatic transmission that shifts smoothly. The GTA
option was an additional $800 and many called it the "Ferrari Back
End." It was a notchback option that changed the rear end look of
the car, it typically had to be ordered direct from the factory and
rarely seen on a lot and there was a 6 month waiting list.
Highlights for the GTA include power locks, power brakes, power
windows, power seats, power steering, front buckets, center
console, controls on the steering wheel, WS6 performance
suspension, keyless entry, cruise control, rear window defrost, 16
inch factory honey comb wheels and air conditioning.
This is a very affordable American Classic that is sure to leave a
smile on your face that will not break the bank.
