Volvo 740 Turbo runs well with need for regular fluid checks & gasoline from BP, Chevron & UT (rhymes with it; my keyboard skipping letters). Built with strong metal covering of that day & time. No Kroger gasoline to be used, which resulted in replacing some parts. Due to year of car, no more emission tests needed & lower payments for tag & insurance.Just took it to regular mechanic businesses with receipts kept, instead of foreign car service. Previous mechanic from Meineke stated that it was in great shape, last change done Havoline Xpress Lube (next due on 3/8/l9)/ Other than a few interior tightening up of materials, it has a lot of positive commodities (reduction given for leeway for these options). Kept annual maintenance along with replacement items. Sunroof top, heated seats, a carrier deck, great stereo radio sound with cassette tape player rarely used. The station wagon converts into truck like capacity when back seat is folded down. Could be helpful for entrepreneur jobs. Being a fine car of this classic age and stage, it fits the right person who can handle it with care and understanding compared to an eccentric antique dealer who serves you well with few quirks. One onlooker stated all it needed was a little love. With someone trying to steal it, the driver side lock must be unlocked from the other side while locked from the driver back seat when getting out. It take turns in chiming the warning sound when you've taken the keys out of the ignition or cut lights off, keeping you on your toes. A slight crack on front windshield hasn't enlarged in over five years. The windshield wiper fluid spritzer and air conditioner could be improved. Heater is fully functional. Hatchback door needs to be propped up with stick provided. Special waxing required due to oxidation. A hardly noticeable dent is on one side. Original items like a headlight cover, headrests and right side visor- (glue back on if needed) which is included along with tools and spare tire. Added bonus is an annual entrance pass to Stone Mountain Park til 9/19. I believe this car will be a true asset to anyone who is in need of reliable transportation with plenty of space and durability along with comfort and just right for person who knows about vintage cars to fix on unlike the modern type you have to hook up to diagnostic machines.
Proof of things changed or replaced within the past two years: brake master cylinder, brake pads, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, power steering belt, serp. belt, rear brake pads & rotors, alternator belt, four set of new tires installed, balanced, rotated, and aligned, water pump, timing belt, A/C belt, rewiring ground wire under dash, oil pan gasket, camshaft seal, crankshaft seal, timing cover gasket. This yer, regular oil change, vinyl floor mats, windshield wipers front & back.
