Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this Factory Black 4 Speed
1978 Z28 which is in terrific restored condition and priced to
sell. This factory Z28 is completely numbers matching,
meaning the original engine and the original 4 speed manual
transmission is still in the car with matching vin stamps on both
the engine block and transmission case, see included photos of vin
stamps. This Z28 features a very nice repaint in factory
Black which still shows well overall, a restored Red vinyl
interior, and an excellent running 350 LM1 engine and M21 4 speed
transmission, which are both original to the car. This Z28 is
finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of
Factory black (code 19) over Red/Carmine vinyl (code 74) interior.
This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag
pictured above. Although this Factory Z28 is not 100% factory
correct it is still a factory Black over Red Z28, with a factory 4
speed transmission.
Exterior
The Black exterior is in nice overall condition. This Z28 was
treated to a professional repaint in factory Black around 10
years ago and still shows well today. The paint is in good
overall condition with a great shine and gloss and is smooth to the
touch. This Z28 is completely solid and shows no signs of
visible rust or rust repair anywhere on car or under car.
There is no evidence of metal repair on the body or on the
underside of this Z28, or any heavy body filler areas. Its
super solid. Both bumpers are in great shape shape with no
flaking or faded paint. There is some light spider webbing on
the front bumper corner. There may be some minor
imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was
intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires are nearly
brand new with full tread left and are sized 225/70/15 and the
Factory wheels are OEM originals and are in excellent shape with no
curb rash and were recently painted. Trunk is very solid and
clean with the original style trunk mat and original space saver
spare tire. Door seals, window seals, and trunk seal
have all been replaced. All the glass is "LOF" factory
original outside of the replacement windshield.
Interior
The Red/Carmine interior of this Z28 is in splendid restored
condition. The new front seat covers are in near perfect
condition with no noticeable wear anywhere. The seat foams
were replaced as well. The carpet was replaced and is in
excellent condition with no major stains, rips, or holes. The
original dash is in terrific condition with no cracks or fading and
the dash bezel is in excellent condition as well. The stereo
has been upgraded to a modern digital cassette unit with auxiliary
inputs with new Rockford Fosgate 6x9 speakers. The door
panels have been replaced and are in great condition and both door
pulls are solid and in tact. The package tray has been
replaced and is in good condition. All interior lights and
gauges work as they should outside of the clock and horn. This car
has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This Z28 is in excellent mechanical condition and runs and drives
very well. Most importantly the original engine and 4 speed
manual transmission are still in the car. The transmission
was just rebuilt in 3/2018 with included $1018 receipt and the car
shifts very smoothly, see photo of receipt. This Z28 was
treated to some tasteful mild performance upgrades which really
enhance the drive ability and overall performance of the car.
An Edelbrock EPS Performer aluminum intake manifold was added
along with a newer Holley Carb. A new Aluminum Radiator was
added recently as well. A new HEI distributor was added with
new spark plug wires and new spark plugs. New true dual
exhaust was added with Headers and the exhaust note sounds great at
idle and cruising speeds. A new battery was added recently as
well. In the video one can observe this car running and
driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles
and performs well. This Z28 is an exceptional driver that
feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no
smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away
every time, idles well, and runs great. The brakes do not
pull and stop as they should. This car is a blast to drive
with the 4 speed manual transmission on a nice sunny day.
Also, the engine bay is clean and nicely detailed as
one can see from the photos. This is a factory NON AC car
which really cleans up the engine bay.
