The Mustang Boss 429 is without a doubt one of the of the most important muscle cars of all time and KK1213 is the Boss to have in your collection. This car was the fourth pre-production car produced by Kar Kraft and had the second earliest Ford VIN (i.e. KK1213 is 4th. KK1210 was first and KK1214 was last pre-production car). KK1210 was destroyed in crash testing so that makes KK1213 the earliest Boss 429 in existence, KK1215 was first car offered for sale to public. This car was campaigned and purchased by Dave Lyell through Ford’s Dollar Program then used as a drag car as you can see from the photos most of its life which is incredibly well documented. This cars full history is known and proven through documentation with countless emails with owners and restorers, articles, Boss registry info, and photographs. KK1213 does retain its numbers matching engine with 871.9 original miles. A recent restoration finished in it’s racing livery recreated exactly as it was raced most of its life, all the details have been painstakingly reproduced even down to the hand painted sponsorship graphics. November 2017 KK1213 was shown and judged at the Muscle car & Corvette nationals where it was awarded concours Gold and scored 986 out of a thousand (judging documents available). The history of this car has been very well researched and put into an article by Mustang 360, please see link below.
