Motors Corp. (AMC) AMX equipped with the well sought after but
optional high-compression medium block 390 CID AMC V8 engine and
the Borg Warner T-10 Manual Transmission routed through a Dana 60
Rear end with a 4.88:1 Gear ratio, the 3 matched together was an
unbeatable force back in 1969. Labeled the "Corvette Competition,"
the AMX offered top-notch performance at an affordable price. The
year is 1969, Led Zeppelin has released their first album, The
Soviet Union launched Soyuz 4, in the USA the lunar module
Eagle/Apollo 11 lands on the lunar surface. An estimated 500
million people worldwide watch in awe as Neil Armstrong takes his
historic first steps on the Moon and American Motors Corp. released
the anticipated AMX. The AMX offered top-notch performance at an
affordable price. Despite this value and enthusiastic initial
reception by automotive media and enthusiasts, sales never thrived.
The automaker's larger objectives to refocus AMC's image on
performance and to bring younger customers into its dealer
showrooms was achieved. After three model years, the two-seat
version was discontinued. This particular AMX is a beautiful
example of one of AMC's Narliest Cars ever built and it is
beautifully painted up in Big Bad Orange. So much care has been
taken in the restoration of this Bad Boy even the underside of this
car is carefully detailed and painted to show the beauty of this
car from bottom to top. The underside is so clean and detailed you
