In 1968, Mercedes Benz introduced the midsize W114/W115 series cars
that sat underneath the full size models. W114 models came with six
cylinder engines, while the W115 came with four cylinder engines. A
coupe model was introduced in 1969 and featured unique sheet metal
and a stylish "pillarless" hardtop design. Just 67,048 coupes were
produced until 1976, making them quite rare.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this very nice 1971 250C for
your consideration. Finished in a lovely classic shade of Light
Ivory, this stylish coupe is an excellent example. The body is very
straight and clean and the paint quality is very nice. There are a
few small stone chips and cracks here and there, but from a few
feet away the car is absolutely stunning. The chrome trim is shiny
and nice and the rubber and plastic trim is very nice as well. The
car rides on 14in "Bundt" light alloy wheels with Hankook tires. A
set of steel wheels and color matched hubcaps are included as well.
The exterior also features chrome exhaust tips, slim early bumpers,
tinted windows, and round driving lights. The interior is in
excellent original shape and is highlighted by the lovely Oxblood
red MBTex synthetic leather seats. The seats are in great shape, as
are the door cards and headliner. The dash is very clean and has
great wood trim as well as an aftermarket stereo and speakers.
This car is equipped with a 2.8L straight 6-cylinder engine that
runs very well and sounds quite sporty. It is mated to a smooth
shifting 4-speed automatic transmission. Built like a brick out
house, these old Mercedes cars exude quality and are olly
appreciating in value.
