Have you ever wanted to compete at the Bonneville Salt Flats and
run a vehicle wide open. If you ever wanted to try for a land speed
record, this car is it! This "built for speed" race car started by
outsourcing the work for a custom built frame by Ellis Racing. The
body and cooling system was also all custom made and built by C and
R Racing in Indianapolis, Indiana. This 2012 B Class Lakester Salt
Flat Racer is powered by a professionally built GM 383 CID V8
Stroker, backed by a professionally built 2-speed Powerglide
automatic transmission, and running to a Ford 9" Racing rear end
with 3.07 gears. The engine build started with using only the best
parts available including: Mahle Pistons, H-Beam Connecting Rods,
Roller Cam, Scorpion Lifters, MSD Ignition system, Electric Water
Pump, Dart Aluminum Heads with oversized valves, and topped with an
Aluminum Edelbrock Victor "E" Intake and a Fast EZ-EFI fuel
injection setup and is putting out an estimated 800 horsepower. The
2-speed transmission was built to handle all that power and more ,
it was built to hold up to 1,300 horsepower. The car is also
equipped with a fire suppression system and dual parachutes to help
slow you down after a blistering run. The wheels are 18" Billet
Aluminum and wrapped around Mickey Thompson Bonneville LSR tires
that are rated at 500 MPH. This car made one pass at the Bonneville
Salt Flats and ran 186 MPH before they let off the throttle, that
was in first gear! The owner states that this car has the potential
of going over 300 MPH. Options on this custom built 2012 B-Class
