Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1950 Ford 2-Door Custom
for consideration. The current owner purchased this vehicle in May
of 1972. He has completely gone through this vehicle from top to
bottom and has cared for it meticulously. It is finished in a Gloss
Black exterior paint that shines nicely and pairs with the Grey
interior well. This Ford is powered by its original numbers
matching 239 cubic inch Flathead V8 that has been rebuilt; it
features a small cam and was bored .30 over. Other features include
MSD ignition, power steering, a new sending unit, 3-speed manual
transmission, a working heater, wipers, aftermarket (glove box
mounted) radio, door locks, one set of keys and more. This is a
great running classic Ford that is an excellent driver, please call
or email us today for more information.
The 1949 Ford was an American automobile produced by Ford. It was
the first all-new automobile design introduced by the Big Three
after World War II, civilian production having been suspended
during the war, and the 1946-1948 models from Ford, GM, and
Chrysler being updates of their pre-war models. Popularly called
the "Shoebox Ford" for its slab-sided, "ponton" design, the 1949
Ford is credited both with saving Ford and ushering in modern
streamlined car design with changes such as integrated fenders and
more. The design would continue through the 1951 model year.
