Vehicle Description
Rarely does an automobile come along as beautiful as the 1969
Jaguar E Type. So beautiful, in fact, that in 1961 when the car was
first introduced, Enzo Ferrari exclaimed "it's the most beautiful
car ever made". Gateway Classic Cars is very pleased to offer this
1969 Jaguar E Type for sale in it's Indianapolis showroom. The E
Type's original 150 mph top speed, sub-7 second 0-60 mph
acceleration, monocoque construction, disc brakes, rack and pinion
steering, and independent front and rear suspension distinguished
the car so much that it spurred industry-wide changes. Based on
Jaguar's D-Type racing car, which had won the 24 Hours of Lemans
three consecutive years beginning in 1955. This Jaguar has been in
the care of it's current owner for the past 14 years, having only
two other owners prior to 2004. Recent work includes; new
alternator, radiator, tires, clutch, brake system, oil pan and
valve cover gaskets. In addition, the car was repainted in 2017 at
a cost exceeding $12,000. Equipped with the still functioning
original am/fm radio, wire wheels, and a wooden steering wheel that
is free of cracks and blemishes. Reclining navy-blue leather bucket
seats, seat belts, remote hood, and trunk releases, and an owner's
manual are just a few more of the Jag's features. The strong
running 4.2L I-6 has turned a little over 80,000 miles, and fires
right to life with the turn of the key. The 4-speed manual
transmission shifts smoothly, and benefits from a recently
installed new clutch. Be sure to visit our website at
